Introduction: Al Rasheed is a privately owned company based in Damascus, Syria. It was established in 1992 specializing in the design and manufacture of injection and blow moulds for the plastics industry to European standards. This 13 Mill US$ custom built facility was initially set up to service the local and Middle eastern regions with a predetermined plan to expand into the European market as our reputation for quality, delivery and costs progressed. Back ground history: Up to 1995 Al Rasheed invested in the training of its personnel and the development of its technical capabilities under European technical and managerial experts. In 1995 Al Rasheed became fully operational and started design and manufacture of a wide variation of moulds with a turn over of rising to 2. 5 Mill US$ at this present time. In 1998 we established our sister company Reem Plastics with an intention of fully utilizing our injection moulding capacity and offering an improved complete service to our customers. In 2002 we decided to reassess our total operation faced with the far east competition. We streamlined our operation and started to specialize in certain areas of mould making. This is evident in our supplied customers base. The above change still with European technical and managerial support allowed us to develop our personnel and increase the utilization and efficiency of our operation. At this time 2005 all our technical and managerial positions are now filled by local nationals and we still have the contacts to use European technical support if required. Technical design and innovation center: We have continually developed this area since the start of the company to keep in touch with the advancement of technology this industry requires. The majority of our technical personnel have 10 years experience in component and mould design /development with the delcam duct5 and supporting systems relating to CAD/CAM applications. We also have a mould flow system. Production planning /control: We operate a comprehensive European system relating to total project management in conjunction with the simultaneous engineering principles that ensures correct lead times are achieved. Complete project plans and periodical updates are automatically supplied. Manufacture: This area again we have developed over the last 10 years and we have retained most of our experienced and highly skilled personnel. We employ approximately 100 people and we can provide a 24hr-6 day shift system as the need arises. this gives us a total capacity of hours per month. Listed below are our main attributes I- We can produce up to 20 TN moulds with a specialization of 10TN or less. II- We utilize complete mould designs. III-We manufacture using European steels and accessories. IV-We have a full range of machining capabilities incorporating conventional-CNC-EDM-EDW-grinding etc. V-We have our own in house vacuum hardening facility. VI-We utilize the latest polishing techniques. VII-Our assembly mould makers are experienced and have been trained to a very high standard. Attached is our up to date plant list. Quality and inspection: We are accreditated with ISO 9001: 2000 which disciplines and controls all our internal systems. All manufactured parts of the moulds are inspected and recorded. We also supply a full I. S. I. R on 1st off trial samples. Our total perception in the area is shown in our quality policy which is attached. Trails and testing: As stated previously our sister company Reem Plastics supplies us with capacity on 12 machines from 80TN to 800TN with further acquisition up to 1. 600TN planned in the future. We can facilitate 1st trials, pre production runs or full production relative to the customers requirements.
